Default whiny power steering pump

I've put in 2 pumps...both whine. I don't remember the whining before. It only whines if the steering is engaged. Not low on fluid, No change in steering control. Wat brand of pump can I put in that doesn't whine? Wife refused to drive. 2003 ES300.

What brand(s) did you use? FYI aftermarket hoses especially the high pressure line can cause this it happened to me.

how did you find out what the issue was. I found out the dealership put in an aftermarket pump. Could that be the issue as well?

Wow. It seems more and more dealerships are actually doing that. It used to be that you could count on a dealership at least using quality parts. That doesn't appear to be the case.

Need more info. What year is your car? What part was used exactly?

In my case I found a used line (salvage yard) which cured the whine. This was on a 1996 ES300 (I think) not 100% sure I work on a lot of cars. Also had this happen on my own car 1987 Camry.
