Remote Start (No Key Detected)
Does anyone have a third party remote start system installed? If so, does it actually turn the engine on or does it just turn on the battery? I recently got a 2008 ES 350 that has an older 'automate' https://www.automatecarsecurity.com/...moteStart.aspx system installed and it's only starting the battery and the dashboard has a message similar to 'no key detected' displayed. If I put the key in the car and then use the remote start then the engine turns on. If there's no way around this I'll be happy with what I have, but if there's a solution that actually starts the engine I'll replace the setup.
My aftermarket system does indeed start the car.
From a distance I hit the "LOCK" button 3 times on the FOB to start the car. When I approach the car and grab the door handle the engine turns off. I then hop in, apply the brake and push the "START" button.

Ah nice, do you know what system you have installed?
