Oil Change Question
Hello Gents... I've got a 2013 ES350. Car still looks and runs like new with only 52K miles on her. Last November I took the car in and had the oil and filter changed, I used Mobil 1 EP which is supposed to be good for 15K miles. I'm old school, I have always changed my oil every 5K miles.. I know some think that's over kill but that's neither here nor there.. Since I had the oil changed last Nov., I have only put about 2K miles on the car to date. How long would you go before you changed the oil. I'm thinking in about another month when it will have been 1 year since the last oil change. Your thoughts... Thank you all in advance.

With only 2000 miles on the oil in your car since being changed, IMO you could go another 5000 miles or more before it would require changing. That would probably put you into 2022 which is not realistic. I wouldn't be afraid to let it go until say, June of next year. You don't have to stay with the one year rule with only 2k miles on your car. This synthetic oil simply doesn't deteriorate like dino oil. Since I only drive my Corvette during the summer and only put about 5-600 miles on it I go two years before changing oil. I checked it the other day and it was as clean as a whistle. (don't know what that means but it was clean nonetheless) My 2019 ES350 was purchased in December 2018 and has 4900 miles on it. The break-in oil was changed on 12-19 at 2200 miles and I'll change it again in December for warranty purposes... This advice probably falls on deaf ears Roland because you like to change so often but that's what I think...
I know you're going to get varied opinions on this subject and all are valid to the owners preferences. In my case and being retired I also do not put as many miles on my vehicles as I used to. I also use Mobil 1 (the regular formula) in all of them and change them once a year regardless of how many miles I have put on them. Is it overkill? Perhaps but it gives me peace of mind. As bc5152 said synthetic oil is not near as volatile to breakdown as conventional oil. I think you are good with the 1-year change or in the case of only 2k miles a year even stretching it out further. However personally I am not sure I would be comfortable waiting a 2 year period. My vehicles: 2017 ES Luxury, 2009 Honda Odyssey EX-L, 2015 Roush RS3 and 2013 HD Road King.
My 2017 ES was due for an oil change because of the one year interval in November, 2019. I don't drive the car at all during the winter, and I put it into storage when the first snow falls. Last fall, we had an early first snow, and that happened before I had a chance to do that planned November oil change.
So, I figured that I'd put the car into storage and get the oil changed as soon as I got the car out of storage, probably in March of 2020. By that time, COVID was a reality, and I didn't feel comfortable going to the (Toyota) dealer and having to spend time in their waiting room. Ultimately, I waited a couple more months until the weather warmed enough so that I could comfortably wait outside for the oil change to be done.
Since I still only had about 5000 miles driven since the previous oil change and since I was doing very minimal driving, I felt completely comfortable with waiting longer than a year to get the oil changed, and I'd feel completely comfortable waiting longer in the OP's situation.
