Default what I need help

ok not to confuse everybody I have (2) es 300s.
one is a 99 or 2000 the factory date is 6/99 from what I've been told it would be considered a 2000 if wrong please let me no.so I got this vehicle without the key and ignition. I've gotten the key and ignition from another es300 but it still won't start it turns over but won't start. do I need the brain from the es300 that I got the key and ignition from or can it the key be programed to the brain thats in my es300. and the key responder box..ok my 2nd question i also just inquired my pts 97 es300 with a blown head its all locked up..now I have different decisions can my 2000 es300 can it be programmed to the new chipped key that I acquired or should I pull the motor from the 97 an put the motor from the 2000 in the 97 same motor but will it start up does the motor have any thing to do with the 2000 being a chiped key with the emobilizer and the 97 not having a chipped key with no emobolizier .pretty much what rout can i take to get one car running

06/1999 is a 1999 model. 08/1999 would be a 2000. The key is tied to the engine computer you can't mix/match or the car will not start. The ECU must be programmed to accept new keys there are services on Ebay that do this, local locksmiths, or you can do it yourself (do a search).

1997 is a different animal the engine does not have VVTi the transmission is a different model.

The engines are quite different starting with the cylinder heads. But if you don't want to take my word for it go ahead with your project as you see fit.

edit - to be clear I've seen claims that some 1999 models do not have VVTi, I have never seen this they all did. But maybe in certain markets this happened? Some pics would help.
