Technically yes. The procedure involves placing two printed targets at two exact locations relative to the car and clicking a few buttons in Techstream. The dealer will ask for your arm-and-leg and the the first-born child for it (as usual) but it is an easy DIY if you have Techstream.

Make sure they get the right windshield, apparently there are 13 different windshield for the ES 350. Mine is a 2014 with Ultra Luxury, and after taking out the windshield they discovered there is no aftermarket windshield made for mine. They tied the car up for 5 days waiting for the correct OEM windshield to be shipped to them from Lexus out of province.

And when I told the guy on the phone well the guy that I’m having a Donna saying that he can’t get any aftermarket windshield for me so he’s going to end up getting approved for an OEM windshield and the guy from Safelite says well I wish I could talk to them but I could tell them there’s one available they were doing everything they could to convince me to stay and get theirs I’m like no

So the guy from the other shop said that he’s going to send in the information let them know he can’t get it anywhere else it’s not available and that he needs the approval for an OEM hopefully it won’t take that long to get a windshield in

First off, Lexus does not make windshields but contracts them from different glass manufacturers (Japan, North America, etc). There are a number of specifications (codes) printed on the glass that defines the testing authority, the manufacturer, etc. Take a read through this thread.. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-...indshield.html. Your VIN should be used by the glass supplier to ensure you get the “same spec” that your car was originally built with. Note, however, that even if the glass manufacturer says the glass has the “features” or “spec” of Lexus; (accoustic, wiper heaters, degree of tint, etc.) it may not actually be an approved supplier to Lexus but rather just to glass replacement companies. I suspect that the only way to guarantee you get a “Lexus approved” windshield is to go through Lexus. I’m certain that if I were to go to the local Toyota dealer (don’t have a Lexus dealer within 120 miles), they would just send the car to the local Crystal Glass or Speedy Glass shop and I’d get whatever they could source that was closest to the spec. You will probably have to insist on “nothing but” Lexus.

if they subside on saying they can find a aftermarket one that is the same then I’ll tow rig it and just ***** for several months about how features that should be working aren’t working and get them to replace it with the right stuff
had to do that with my 07 headlamps once after an accident abd with my Cadillac once about after
srket parts
fuannly after they got the aftermarket part in and realized it wasn’t going to work it was an issue they just gave up on arguing about and replaced with oem
