Thank you for your response. Just did a good cleaning on throttle body. No help at all. Changed plugs even though there was no missing or stumbling. No help at all with new plugs and throttle cleaning. No DTC for transmission or engine. Again the only way the vibration stops completely is if I jack the car up put it in gear and release the brakes. I think I've narrowed it down enough to go ahead and send it to an independent transmission shop. Gonna send it in Monday and will let everyone know what happens. I appreciate all the reply and still accept any further ideas. I read a few people have had the same thing and the lexus professionals couldn't figure it out either. They say it's mainly 07 08 es350. Thanks everone

It will be great to know what resolves this. I wouldn't say it is your transmission for sure, but I wouldn't rule it out either. Of course, if you take it to a transmission shop, they will sell you a new or rebuilt transmission, regardless.

Just because the vibration goes away when your put it in gear, doesn't mean the transmission is a fault. The earlier posts that recommended engine maintenance were correct to have you looking into the ignition and air/fuel systems, however, without fault codes, it's hard to know where to look. I liked the ideas regarding vacuum and EGR leaks, as these wouldn't necessarily trip codes and a vacuum leak can definitely cause engine vibration at idle.

Have you had the dealer diagnose it yet? It would be worth their two-cents before bringing it to a trans shop.

Good luck!

I got my both sides control arms and right side motor mount changed a few days ago and I feel the same vibration now. It wasn't like this before I get these parts changed.

I'm curious of the end result... I bought a 2007 ES350 and it is also vibrating at the red light unless I put it on park... it isn't always vibrating but most of the time, it is and I don't know why. Got about 70k miles on it....

I'm a believer in checking all the simple things before condemning any major components such as transmission issues. It sounds like your vibration is caused when you're holding the brake pedal while stopped (engine @ idle, vehicle speed: 0mph). I would troubleshoot this by opening the hood, removing all the plastic shields and have a helper hold the brake pedal in Park with the engine idling. Then switch to Drive and do the same thing. Listen for sucking and/or hissing noises from around the air intake and brake fluid reservoir - that would be in front of the steering wheel. There may be some vacuum leaks that are causing your engine to shake.

There is also many other components that could cause vacuum issues with the engine. Some that come to mind: a Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, a throttle body, an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve, a brake booster.

I would start there and if it's not anything obvious, see a technician who you trust to check it further.

Possibly worn engine and or transmission mounts as another vibration source.
