Default Engine swap?

Hey guys I’ve done some quick research on any possible swaps there might be for my 1997 es300 but so far I’ve only found a thread for 1993. A four year gap maybe there’s enough space for the 2JZ? I really don’t think so but I have no idea. Anyways if there is any possible engine swaps please let me know I really want to hype up this car because I have a few ideas in mind for it. I’ve already gave it a new muffler and I plan on buying a weapon r intake.

Don't buy the intake unless you want more noise with less power. The ES is a front wheel drive car there is no chance you will put any drivetrain in that makes is rear wheel drive. There is no cheap way to get more power a proper engine swap will cost you $5000+ way more if you want serious power.

If you like performance buy a different car for example one that already comes with a 2JZ.

i've thought about doing a swap myself. (not on the same year) but tbh i wanna do a swap on my 99 Es300 or Build up the Engine N/A with a possible reforging of the engine to hold boost. i've rolled around the idea of using parts from the Is300 or Gs400 or Ls400 and doing a conversion. Spec wise the is300 is closer in term of wheel base and drivetrain length (with only a couple inch difference from what i have researched so far.) i really wanna do something awesome with my es300 so i will save up money and buy another car so i can fully project and dump money into if i have too xD Anyways, i would recommend looking around in the forums alot about swaps/upgrades maybe even research some of your own info on with platform you wanna use. Lexus is compatible with alot of toyota stuff so you got lexus/toyota to start from but maybe other car brands might have a better platform you like.

Why do you think the intake is a bad option and gives less performance?

Because it draws hot air from inside the engine bay the factory intake does not. You absolutely cannot make more power with a different intake, period. If you want better breathing the heads have to be ported and the injectors changed.
