I was just curious. Has anyone tried this oil before? And why isn't it marketed or sold in the U.S? I did some research and found out its actually manufactured by ExxonMobil. I just wonder why we don't get this stuff here.

I worked at Lexus toyota and never seen that 5 quart jug. First thing I notice is the weight. There isn’t any vehicle that uses a 5w-40 weight. I departed from the dealer in 2016 but was there 16 yrs. and the oil we had there was made by mobile 1 both out regular and synthetic oils. 0w-30 , 0w-20, 5w-30 were the oils we used. Where did you find that. Now I know in different regions of the world there’s different toyota Lexus vehicles so might be from a different country
I found it on google says from the Middle East

I have heard good reviews on the oil,
It looks like Lexus dealerships in the middle east use this oil on most Lexus vehicles. I guess it's because of the harsh climate. Even the owners manual on Lexus vehicles in the middle east show an option of 5w40!
It just makes me curious that the 5w40 viscosity is not recommended by Lexus in the U.S even when temperatures exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit(TEXAS). And remember 100 degrees is the limit for the 5w30 according to the owners manual. What about temperatures that are above that threshold? Would it be ok to use 5w40?
Lexus, as well as Toyota, produces all kinds of oil for other markets, just take a look at pictures below.. I found those at some Russian dealership.
In my opinion, the reason why they don't sell it here is because no one is actually interested in genuine oil that costs more, and that has to be ordered instead of any other variety of oils everywhere else. In the countries where they sell that oil, people treat their cars much differently from here, like in Russia or Ukraine, the average age of the cars on the roads is 15-20+ years, and people are accustomed to a genuine oil. Hence the reason for the standard motor oil with Lexus badge on it..
About 5W-40 oil in ES300 - you won't hurt your engine by pouring some 5W-40 oil in there, it just may decrease your engine's performance and efficiency, since it is a bit thicker.. Also, it doesn't seem like bottles that you posted are indeed for 1MZ-FE engine, there is only 4 liters in those, while MZ engine requires 4.7L..
