Our '02 ES displayed this error message when the CD player was turned on. Radio works fine. Owners manual suggests ejecting the CD when this error is displayed. That doesn't work either. Other CDs selected show the same. Any suggestions?

 

I suggest saying goodbye to the original system and getting something modern.

I've had some success getting the discs out after that error by removing the fuse in the fuse panel in the left of the dashboard. When I put the fuse back in the offending disc was ejected.

Thanks folks, it sounds like shutting off the power to the CD player is the best option. I'm guessing that pulling the fuse would be no different than disconnecting the battery. When it warms up here in Minnesota I'll give it a try.
