Good products but harder to find for someone who isn't a detailer type

You may need to do that several times, switch to a clean section of the first MF towel for each application of Scratch X

You can buy the Scratch X wherever car products are sold.
Just ordered for pick up, thanks.

I didn't see @lesz post about 3M Hand Glaze until now. But will file it away for future reference.

I bought mine from a local shop that sells automotive paint supplies, but, in today's world, they are readily available on-line. Hare is an Amazon seller who sells the Hand Glaze, for example, for less than $20.

Amazon Amazon

When I've bought either the Hand Glaze or Machine Glaze, I've bought 32 ounce bottles for around $25-30. The product in the link is a 16 ounce bottle, but that should be plenty and enough to last for years of minor scratch removal use.

I use the Hand Glaze and Machine Glaze with the same technique as described earlier in the thread. For minor scratches, I would normally start with the less abrasive Hand Glaze. If I need something more abrasive, I start with the Machine Glaze and finish up with the Hand Glaze.

For many people though, they just want to run out and buy something in a store in which case the Scratch X is a good option

Hard to tell from the bad lighting, but to me it looks more like the top of the tree trunk gouged the paint than that it's just a minor scratch from the needles. As such, you'll need to have the area repainted. A body shop can paint it and blend the new paint in with the old so you don't notice it. Or, since it's just the trunk lid and not a large body panel, they might just spray the whole thing and call it a day.

At the very least if you choose not to have it professionally repaired, you should get touchup paint on it to prevent it from rusting in the future.

Those can be buffed out. Good for you.

I canceled my pick-up order of Scratch-X from Walmart. I got an email on Sunday saying the order was delayed.

I called today several times, and was on hold for 35+ minutes, and they wouldn't confirm whether the item was available, or when it would be available. They didn't even take down my name or phone number. They just kept transferring me to the Pick Up department, where no one would take the call.

One customer support person said she was sorry I was waiting, and she'd transfer me to the right person. After putting me on hold for 2-3 minutes, she came back and said she was transferring me again, then the line got disconnected. Similar to my previous attempts to call. Just a lot of mysterious disconnections.

I've had problems with this Walmart before. I've never been successfully able to receive an item I placed for pickup. According to my records, in 2017 I placed an order, only for it to be canceled by Walmart because it was out of stock.

Other times, when I've called this Walmart to ask if an item was in stock, they would just place me on hold and never check.

Target, and their customer service, are way better. I've never had any issues with a pick-up or in person order.

At this point, I made an appointment with my car detailer for Saturday. There were some scratches from 2018 that I also wanted him to look at. When I spoke to him in 2018, he said to get the touch up paint, which I did. But I never followed up with an appointment.

So now, I'll just have him look at all of the various things, and we'll see what he can do.

I wouldn't be able to pick up or have Scratch-X delivered by the weekend before the appointment anyways now. Before, I was thinking I'd use it and see if I can improve any of the current scratches, then have the detailer do whatever else is necessary.

But now, I'll just have him do as much as he can. Hopefully I don't need to take it to a body shop.
