Default 2002 es300 stumble on acceleration.

I replaced my mass airflow sensor on my 2002 es300 after it pulled a code. Now the check engine light is off but it stumbles from a stop when I stab the throttle. Any input would be appreciated. I need some direction on what it could be? Thanks

Did you disconnect the battery before you did the swap?

Agreed.

Reset the ECU by disconnecting the negative pole of your battery for a few minutes.

BTW, was it a Denso MAF you replaced it with?

You could have a cracked snorkel hose.after the MAF. If so, the crack will open up when you drive forward, but typically remain closed when driving in reverse. Remove the snorkel hoses and examine them closely. If you find a crack you can seal it temporarily with some electrical take till you get a replacement.

such a crack, willl let unmetered air into the engine, (it’s after the MAF), will cause the symptoms you described, and typically will not trigger the check engine light
