Default Adding TPMS sensors?

My wheels have the bubbling paint and I found a decent set of the nicer 2010 wheels with sensors for a decent price. Do additional sensors need to be with the tech stream or are our cars able to recognize a second set like other Toyota vehicles?

Each TP sensors has its own ID code.
Your current ones are registered to the TPM ECU.
Your 2010 TP sensors ID need to be registered to your TPM ECU for it to be recognize.
It usually a 6-7 digit code thats on the TP sensor itself.
It requires a techstream or some diagnostic tool to communicate with the TPS ECU for it to be registered.
Some Lexus models can take 2 sets of TP sensors.(cant remember right now)
If yours can only take one and if you choose the 2010, each sensor will need to be registered.

Another option is to swap your current sensors to the 2010 rims so no reg is needed.
At least you know your TP sensors are working.
i suggest to replace the seals to prevent leaks.
Some say batt life is about 10 years or so.
So.thats something to think about as well.

You can also clone the new sensors. I.e. make them appear to be the same as the old ones. There's no need to reprogram the ECU but you do need a tool to do the clone.
