Driver's side headlight is out
 

I have replaced the HID bulb and checked the under the hood fuse for the headlight. No joy. I even replaced the fuse just to make sure. All other lights work properly. Is there something I'm missing or need to check? I heard about a ballast but not sure of the location...

try the known good passenger HID in the driver slot to eliminate defective bulb socket issues

I have tried 2 known good bulbs wit the same results.
Is there a way to test the ballast? I really dont want to slip the headlight to replace the ballast. Here's hoping its something else.
