Default Windshield wiper fluid delay...

This isn’t serious but annoying. When I pull the switch back to shoot out my wiper fluid, there’s always a delay so the wipers streak against a dry windshield one time. Is this common? 06 es 330

This can happen due to clogged fluid lines or a dying pump. It may also be normal behavior.
I would first start by inspecting the nozzle heads and using a small pin to clear them out (push the pin in to break up any debris). Test.
Open the hood to get access to the reservoir and try to listen to the pump while somebody is pulling the switch (make sure the wipers can clear the hood FIRST).

Other than that you can try half pulling the stalk to engage the fluid without engaging the wipers. I do that sometimes to get my windshield wet before I run the wipers.
