Default Auto for wipers not working...

Please let me know the secret for adjusting the sensitivity for ensuring the auto wipers work when it’s raining?
i have attempted to manipulate the sensitivity by turning the band. Not working. Could they actually be ‘broken’
maybe I’m not turning in the right direction.
thanks for your feedback

so you are saying the rain sensing is not happening at all in auto mode or it works but you cant tell any difference by rotating the sensitivity ring? Have a look at att pdf which outlines how rain sensing system works based on rain density and speed of car. If rain sensing works, just not very well, my guess would be to replace the rain sensor tape.

Has the windshield been replaced? Sensor is at the top and if an aftermarket glass is
used it may not have the correct masking to let the sensor...sense.

Default Auto for wipers not working...

I am happy to report that the auto for Wipers spontaneously started working this morning. Only thing I can think of is that I was using the manual wipers earlier this week and I had always used the windshield wiper fluid BEFORE because I couldn’t figure out how to use the manual because I was always on Auto. I finally learned how to use the manual.
Full disclosure ... I don’t understand the Japanese icons and I also can’t chew gum and walk at the same time! LOL

Wiper Stalk up is off, suitable for car washes.
Next position down (level or horizontal) is Auto
the rolling ring control is up for more sensitive, wipes sooner with less rain
twisting it down is less sensitive, does not start wipers until a bit of rain falls
No matter how it is set the wipers will work harder when it rains harder, less when less
Low and High are manual choices
