Recirculation Mode

Is it bad to keep my car air conditioning in recirculation mode? I have a small exhaust leak so when i put the AC to accept outside air, I can smell some exhaust.

It's not the best practice doing so tends to allow moisture to build up which causes mold. Get the exhaust leak fixed.
