Talking about TPMS
Well my 7 year limit has come on my TPMS sensors so I decided to go buy a TPMS tester/programmer. Ended up getting an Autel TS501 tester. As I have the TPMS light on the dash I checked all 5 wheels and found 1 bad sensor and 2 more with low batteries. So I pulled the bad wheel and cloned the bad sensor with one of the Autel programmable sensors. Put the wheel back on the car and reset the TPMS system and the light went out and all is well. So now I'll have to replace the other 2 sensors. Lexus wants about $120 a wheel to replace while the Autel sensors cost $25 each. Then again my labor was 3/4 of an hour out of my retirement day. Just an FYI
Yes, the battery inside se sensor.
Remove the sensor feom the wheel, remove the back plastic that covers the silicone, then you take a knife and you remove all the silicone on the side of the battery, remove the old batteey, put a new one, weld the connectors, put some silicone back and the cover and you’re ready to go.
