Default Loud Cabin Fan (Blower)

Hi Guys,

I have just bought a used 2010 ES 350. I have noticed the cabin blower fan is extremely loud and noisy at high fan speed. However, at low speed the fan seems normal.

I have read few post here about similar issue with other models, so I am not sure if this is a common issue with Lexus or not.

I dint find a youtube video for that to help.... What should I do ? some posts says you have to clean the blower, other said replace it.

Please advice .. if a specific procedure is needed, if possible please add a video or steps to do that.

Thanks

The ventilated seats are pretty loud on mine when turned on. I thought it was coming from the vents until I turned them off one day.

Thank you for your reply.

I meant the AC fan not the seats.

In previous cars I had the blower fill up somehow with maple helicopter seeds from the cottage. Really an amazing amount and it threw the spin out of wack! Here is the stuff to remove/inspect the blower. I cant believe that all those steps are needed to get at the blower but you'll have to check it out yourself

In the past, i''ve removed the cabin fan to clean it out as for maintenance measure, it is dirty, mainly dust sticking on the fan blades, I cleaned it with alcool and spray some silicone, i also spray some silicone and lithium grease and turn the fan by hand. Let is set overnight before installing it back. The reason is if it is still wet and you put the fan on, grease and silicone with splash out.

I notice a reduction of noise, but maintly to keep the fan going strong. If i can do it for the seat fan, it would be great, but for that i have to know how to remove it.

I had the same issue I took out the old cabin air filter and it was black and full of so much crap, I cleaned it and put it back in, and then it started making this weird noise like a broken muffler, so I bought a new cabin air filter, replaced it and same issue, so the problem was an acorn was stuck in that fan blade which was causing that obnoxious noise with the a/c running, the acorn must've fallen in the spinning fan when I took out the old filter seeing as it was full of so much crap, I had to dig deep down into that fan, and felt all the way around and sure enough that's what the issue was, now my a/c sounds normal like it's supposed to, so glad it wasn't a major issue, everyone try that if you pull out your cabin air filter, stuff easily falls into that fan, and gets stuck.
