Default es300 sub replacement

Any recommendations on a subwoofer? My oem sub blew and not sure if to replace with an original off ebay or something else.

Aftermarket is definitely the way to go here. Nakamichi sound has the power to push an aftermarket sub to keep the factory sound consistent. You could get crazy with it, but then you have to worry about deck lid rattling which is an added cost to buffer and adding an amp. I would go simple with a good brand aftermarket sub. The factory sub can be had for really cheap, but I think they leave much to be desired. In my humble opinion, of course. I still have the factory sub in the car and it produces good sound still, so I'm not in any hurry to change it, but if I were to do that, I would go with today's tech in the sound department.

This is a bit outdated, but has good information on caring for the OEM Nakamichi amp, so worth the read. I don't know much about this industry anymore as the last aftermarket sound I did was a dozen years ago. But the folks at Crutchfield are excellent and can help you if you bring up the info in the thread linked below.

I have the same Nakamichi amp in my 01 es300 and was wondering if it would cause any problems to replace the stock speakers with these.

Considering their brand, BOSS, you'll get what you pay for.

$14 for a pair of speakers when big brands go for much more.
I'd expect a downgrade in sound quality and a loss of midbass (as expected with aftermarket speakers).

I put a pair of Kicker CS65s in my doors and they were a little better than stock, less midbass, of course.

What rms and wattage can the stock amp handle from the speakers?
