99 ES300 Code P1135
I have a 1999 ES300 with code P1135 which is the A/F sensor in Bank1 Sensor1. I would like to change the sensor and start from there. I have done research on this page and other websites and I'm still confused as to what part I actually need and the location of it. Apparently there is a difference between an A/F sensor and an O2 sensor but how do I know which one I need? Also, I still can't find where is located, if I could find it I could check the part number and get the exact part but I'm not sure where it is. Any info would be helpful.

Use NTK or Denso for best results, don't cheap out (Denso is the OEM for the Toyota one). I notice that Denso has different part numbers for front vs. rear bank, and NTK offers the same sensor for both. Either is good.
Only other brand I'll call out is Bosch...avoid at all costs, unless it's a reboxed NTK (sometimes is). HTH
It's an A/F sensor and that one is located between the firewall and the engine. It's a bit tricky to get to but doable with the right tools.
If you look down from the back between the firewall and engine you'll see it Bout 1/2 way down. There are several YouTube videos on how to change it.
Also make sure that your car is not a California specd car as the sensors are different. The should be a sticker under the hood or check with the Lexus dealer based on your VIN

Thank you for the replies really apperciate it I should be able to find it now. The sticker under my hood says USA and Canada so I'm guessing it's not a California specd even though the sticker does say that it meets EPA and California standards?
To determine for sure, call Lexus' 1-800 No. or ask your Lexus dealer. Give them your VIN and they'll tell you. That way you can order the right part ahead of time.
