Question Engine mis-fire?

I have done 110 K on 98 ES300, with routine maintenance it is still running great.....except lately while accelarating (especially between 40MPH to 60 MPH) in top gear feels like engine mis fires( or something like 'gaps' in power).

This happens expecially when you reduce the power and try to speed up again. even if I push the gas pedal softly.

Any thoughts?

Explain the situation more detailed. For the 40-60 mph surge in power that you feel, it's probably the ACIS valve that opens and closes at certain speeds and throttle.

OK. Here is the situation:

Initial accelaration: no problem, i.e. when I start the car and accelarate to 60 MPH, smooth.

But when I am cruising at 60, then I reduce the speed some where around 40, and accelarate again the I notice the problem. It goes away when the car accelataes back to 65 or 70.

Thanks for your help...

Hmm that doesn't sound normal. Have you had your valves adjusted or fuel injectors flushed out lately?

I took it to the Dealer and they adjusted the valves and flushed the injectors.
