Interior Replacement/upgrade
I've a 2000 ES300 with 200xxx miles on it and was going to go after a GS but then thought lets have some type of fun. The car is mostly stock, runs well and no payments. I've a GX 470 that I can drive (family hauler) if needed. Has anyone really done an interior swap? The current is tan leather or the ever popular "old man tan". I'm pushing to go all black on the inside as that would give me more color options to paint the exterior. I'm looking into a few local upholstery shops, but that would only cover the seats. Still have to look at the headliner, carpeting, moldings etc as well.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
On my ES330, I didn't like the brown color dash board, and I got it vinyl wrapped with a leather like vinyl:
On my Solara, I didn't like the gray plastic pillars and headliner, so I wrapped it in suede cloth:
You can also experiment with vinyl wrapping your wood trims. I went with a metallic blue:
I also rebuilt my armrest with real leather from the seats:
You can also swap in a black leather shifter and restitch it using contrasting stitching, like I've done here:
I've read and seen your recommendations, speedkar9, to use genuine 3M vinyl cover. How hard would it be for me (or with another pair of hands) to do what I mentioned?
