Default When do your WELCOME LIGHTS activate?

The WELCOME LIGHTS on my UL doesn't activate until I am up and next to the door of the car. This seems to defeat the purpose of the welcome lights because any illumination it provided is useless because I've already safely found my way to the car.

On a Prius I had in the past, the WELCOME LIGHTS (interior only version) will activate when I am within 1-2 car lengths.

What have you all experienced?

Mine come on a few feet from the door. I wish it was more like 10 feet, though. You're correct...I find the lights not worth it if I have to step in the puddle or wet grass next to my door only to see that there is a puddle or something. My dealer has a nifty puddle-light swap that displays the "L" logo on the ground. But if I'm going to step on it when it comes on and then get in...what's the point?

They come on as I'm walking up to the car... Unless I push the unlock button(if the doors are locked), then they come on a lot sooner.

Even if its not locked, just hit the lock followed by unlock and the lights will come on at the range of the fob
