Default Lease - minor damage

I lease my ES300h through Lexus Financial. Car was sideswiped. No dent, just scuff and scratch on rear quarter panel. Will it be better to fix privately, or just turn in the car and let LFS bill me? Is this something they will ever let slide if leasing another Lexus?

I don't think that any dealership lets anything slide. I would bet that they'd charge you more than you'd pay if you had it repaired privately. IMO they look for any issue to take your security deposit.

I have no security deposit.

Two cars ago, I was rear ended with minor bumper damage. Driver didn't want any report, so offered to pay for my damage. I got an estimate from a local shop, around $750, which the other driver paid to me. I never made the repair, and turned the car in to Audi at lease end. Didn't want to spend the time on the repair, figured I would just pay Audi. They never charged me. Must have been within some allowable limit.

I agree. Shouldn't be too difficult to rub out the scuff and scratch, and may be within the limits of "normal" wear and tear during the lease of a car when it's time to turn it in.
