I get 30-30.5 ( got 30 last Saturday on an 80 mile trip at 70MPH) on highway trips and 24-25 in local city driving. The higher tire pressure will have a tendency to wear down the center of the tire faster.

ah ok ill pull my down to 30 and see how they ride for a bit
i don't knotice any tire weare abnormal except for drivers side front that was wearing on the outside due to a bad strut but the other tires seem to be wearing ok
but it would explain perhaps how come with 30k on the tires they are down to 5 3/2 i think the mvx4 was 12 3/2 or 11 new so was thinking maybe it was the bad struts that was caasuign them to go down faster or the heat from the roads down here but guess perhaps it was the psi

PSI was always at 30-32. My 2007 Michelins OEM tires only went to the same mileage but Michelin gave us a rebate on new ones back then. The car is 90% driven suburbia. Rotated every oil change at time actually instead of mileage. I think it is the roads here in Northeastern PA or my somewhat spirited driving.

As you guys are quoting tire pressures, are you using the TPMS psi or a gauge? Just wondering what to go by.

I always used a gauge. The systems on my 2007 and 2010 didn't show individual tire pressures. I kept my tires at around 32 psi.

Every time I check tire pressure it is once a month in the morning before I go out. Check it with a tire gauge and top up if necessary . I then always reset the TPMS . Oh I use recommended 30 psig as listed on the B pillar. On my 2008 ES350 I got 25,000 mile on the OEM's but did not rotate the tires.

i would like it beter if the system on my 07 showed each tire PSI but it doesn't that kind of sucks
but i check my PSI with a digital gauge once per week or every 1000 miles depending on what comes first

Thanks for the info. I've been watching the psi since it makes a difference in ride and (I think) noise.

Great deal on a great tire.

Although mine's a Camry 09V6 same powertrain and 215/55/17 tire size as ES350 (I stay on this forum since my "ex" drove ES & Camry V6 has same powertrain issue ES) and :

1) My OEM Turanzas wore out in 8,500 miles. A new record low.

2).My current Primacy H rated have over 60,000 miles on them and are only about to 5/32" so due to be replaced soon.

3) I went to Discount Tire the other day to have my tires measured for possible replacement and salesman told me the Premier A/S is even better than the Primacy and will eventually replace it ...... although not soon since it still comes standard on Lexus, Camry & Avalon.

There are only about 20 reviews on tirerack since it's so new ...... but that's what I'd buy if I needed a set of four today.

WOW , I just turned 27K on my OEM Bridgestones and they are still street legal.

According to Consumer Reports in their 2014 auto issue, the top rated all-season tires in order are:

H Rated: Michelin Primacy MXV4, Continental PureContact and Nexen CP672

V Rated: Continental PureContact, Pirelli P7 Cinturato and Michelin Primacy MXV4

The CR 2014 auto issue is based on their 2012 test results. Since then, Michelin, Continental, and Pirelli have all come out with updated tires, not yet tested by CR. Here is pretty much where it stands now:

Michelin Primacy: Still tried and true with very happy customers, #3 on tirerack. Still a strong contender and V rated is still OEM on Lexus ES, Gen 4 Avalon and Camry XLE. However, though still available in some locations, it appears Michelin stopped making the H rated version (UTQG treadwear rating 620) and the V rated has a UTQG rating of only 500, although both carry a 60,000 mile treadwear warranty. Now #3 on tirerack owner survey of performance all season tires ..... but it usually re-emerges as #1 since it has the most miles driven every time it gets "bumped." $151 each* / Tirerack: $163

Michelin Priemier A/S:: Michelin's newest technology. Retains traction and braking characteristics as tread wears out and other benefits. UTQG rating 640 in both H and V versions. Too few reviews to be placed on the tirerack survey, but reviews say it's an excellent tire. 60,000 mile warranty. H rated $160 each.* V rated: $175 each.* / Tirerack: H $159 V $174

PirelliCinturato P7 All Season Plus: Now number one on tirerack. V rated tire with 70,000 mile warranty and 700 UTQG treadwear rating. V rated $138 each.* Tirerack: H $125; V $135

ContinentalPureContact with EcoPlus Technology Now nunber two on tirerack. V rated UTQG treadwear rating 700 with 70,000 mile warranty. ** Tirerack: $130

Tread Depth Comparison in 32 of one inch: V rated Primacy 9.5; H rated Primcay (if you can find them - BigO & Discount Tire still has some in stock) 11/32; H & V Premier: 8.5; H & V P7: 10; PureContact: 10

*(Prices shown are at local Pensacola Discount Tire installed with lifetime rotations. In most cases, they beat out tirerack.com prices when shipping, mounting, and, lifetime rotations are taken into account.)

**Not available at local Pensacola Discount Tire location.

Note:: Be careful, Continental & Pirielli have other tires with similar names. Be sure and get the correct (latest) version.

I am still waiting to hit the wear bars on my OEM Bridgestone's (just turned 28K). These tires provide my needs but I have my options open for the next set. My major criteria is the ride both a quiet and smooth riding tire. 30,000 miles on a tire is good for me and because I do not drive in the snow anymore only wet conditions would be a concern. I've found in the past that the longer mileage tire are usually harder and as they wear the ride starts to suffer. Considering this is not a performance vehicle the major reason we bought one was for comfort.
