Hi Poppa - good to hear that it's not a problem now. The summer weather tends to heat up the dach and make to soft and pliable. The winter weather on the other hand, as you've noted, makes the dash firmer and harder. The dash squeaks and rattles can be a tough thing to solve.
Arty, I'm sorry if I mislead you... If I said the dash got hard in the winter ( cooler months ) that was my mistake... actually the reverse is true.... seems like when the temp is warm the squeak stops, and the dash is very firm.. no flex when you push on it with your finger, however in the cooler temps, like it was tonight driving home from work ( around 55-60 degrees ) the dash squeak was there again and the dash actually had a little "give" to it... I intend to keep on the dealership about this, but with everyday temps of 90 plus just around the corner here in Louisiana, squeak probably won't be a major issue til at least October....
I think it's temperature related, and not an installation error. Warmer temperatures makes things soft and pliable, and cooler or cold temps make things a bit more harder and firmer, IMHO. Poppa, you didn't mislead me since I was coming from my own experience. That said, I'd keep on the dealer to make it right, although it may be more difficult now during the warmer weather.
