Hey guys im new here so im still learning to navigate the the site.. i have a 95 es300 with 290k on it. I owned for a month now and i love the car! And runs and drives great but with one issue.. my tansmission a few times has slipped while driving. It cuts off while in drive so i have to shift down to 2nd in order for it to not cut off. Then when i try to put it back in drive it will jerk a lil bit then cut off. Also when this happens my reverse doesnt work at all! Any advice will be appreciated!

Have you thought about changing the fluid? Have you checked the fluid level and condition? What is the service history of the car?
I really dont know the service history but the guy i bought it from had a diagnostic done and got codes p1705- direct clutch speed sensor, p0500- vehicle speed sensor or ecm, p0325- knock sensors and p0135- O2 sensor b1s1. He got the vehicle speed sensors done but nothing else since he didnt want to spend more money. The transmission fluid looks good but i guess i can never be to sure. Is changing the fluid a job i can do myself or have a mechanic do it?
