1999 es300 Custom Headunit Install
Stock stereo is pretty easy, just pop off the ac vents as well as the small trim under the climate control, you should see 4 bolts all together and then the whole assembly will come out
Take a couple bolts off the side and your headunit should be out!
Also if you get the metra harness all theyou'll have the remote and everything clearly labeled, it is pretty self explanatory, if you read my first post, it has the part number needed
and also regarding the ground loop isolator
I have talked to a few buddies and they all have told me that the ground loop is only a bandaid and if I dont eventually find the problem, I will burn out my amp/headunit >;/
Tried ground the headunit and it did not work, I have no idea where to start now

So I've decided I need to bypass the amp, no way around it
Does anyone know if there is a harness out there for this?
I am fine with splicing the wires, but should I ever need back the stock equipment I dont want have to cut off/into the harnesses if I dont have to
Thanks for everyones replies!

That's the decision I made after trying to make it work with the RCA outs...it's a bit of a pain but not much more than you've already done. I ran some extra speaker cable from the head to the factory amp connector, snipped the wires out of the amp and spliced on. It sounds great! No noise at all, and I've got a cheap Axxess head unit. If I ever sell the car. they can have the head unit. I won't worry about hooking the factory amp back up. The only downside is you lose the factory sub; if you have an aftermarket sub, it will put the factory sub to shame anyway.

Thanks for the reply, I guess I will just have to go down that route then. I was hoping there was a way around it but I guess not.
Thanks for the help, being new to this forum, it's already helped me so much, just tackled the brakes and rotors all around too with ease!
