"Only Air Condition Seats are cool"

You are almost correct - with the a/c on and cool air directed to the floor, the seats in the ES will feel cool, certainly not as cold as true air conditioned seats but cool enough to stay comfortable in really hot weather [with the a/c on] non-the-less.

Lexus certainly could have designed these better but considering the LS only has ventilated seats, the expectation that the ES should have A/C cooled seats may be a bit much.

 

When you buy a Lexus (regardless of model) and it's marketed as having ventilated seats, you shouldn't have to say to yourself.. "I shouldn't expect much because I only bought an ES". Just because the car is cheaper than an LS, doesn't mean that you should lower your standards to being non-functional. Just my two cents...

The LS and the ES both only have ventilated seats, which is my point. It seems some expect that the ES should have a/c cooled seats - the LS does not even have this feature.

Just curious, for those stating they are non-functional, are you using them with or without the a/c turned on, and with or without airflow directed to the feet and vents and not just the vents. I suspect some are trying to use the ventilated seats in place of turning the a/c on, which will not work and give the appearance of them being non-functional.

 

My opinion, not worth the extra money. The ventilation is useless.

 

I do enjoy the heated seats in the winter. However, I'm not sure if you can buy one without the other?

 

Yeah, I don't think it's an either or thing. They all are heated/ventilated.

 

Actually, you can get the vehicle without the ventilated seats, IF you do not order the Ultra Luxury Package. The option alone costs $440 BUT you must also buy the Premium package.

For the record, I went for a test drive first in a Lincoln MKZ and then (the same day) in an ES 300h.

With the Lincoln the seat ventilation/cooling/whatever (the name they use and how it works is irrelevant to me) was really obvious and pleasant. With the Lexus we had to ask the salesman if we had turned it on, the effect was so insignificant (we had). My wife had the same reaction to both in the passenger seats.
