Just wondering what you guys, if any of you have it, think of the DVD overview of the 2002 ES300? I got mine around Oct. '01, well before the '02 ES's were in the stockrooms; I believe I requested the DVD via the Lexus website.
In short, I thought the presentation was quite comprehensive and pleasantly eye-catching. My favorite parts were the tour of the entire interior and console, and the interview with the CEO of Mark Levinson, maker of stereo equipment standard with the '02 ES300.
As far as their "passionate pursuit of perfection" priority, I think Lexus did a superb job in fascinating their consumers by offering this DVD presentation, rather than just handouts and literature. In the oftentimes tight marketing world, it's best to stay one step ahead out of the pack
I have the DVD. It's an interesting concept. On the other hand, I'm not sure it sold many cars for them.
When they were sending them out, I remember seeing them on eBay, where people were reselling them. While I guess I enjoyed it, I'm sure glad I didn't pay for it.
They were given free through various channels. I got mine by requesting it through the Lexus web site before I bought the ES.
The presentation is quite nice, and better than anything you can get online or in print.
I think they should've included the DVD with every '02 ES. While more of a marketing tool to get people to buy the ES, it might increase owner satisfaction for those who just made their purchase. That is, for the 20% of owners who'd actually bother watching it.
i've got that dvd.... it's pretty nice. don't know why they spent all the money on making it, but it was a good idea. i think lexus is the first to do this dvd thing.
