Question weird problem with car

hey everyone....hows it going?. Okay well here is the problem. While starting the car and once i m in first gear the car starts to jerk. I have to press the gas to make the car got out of that phaze. Once that happens it runs smoothly. I dont think its the transmission i think it deals something with the electrical,etc... i dont know. What do u think the problem is?

Thanks

i am not sure i understand the problem fully. So when you are driving/starting from a dead stop, first gear jerks but second gear and above, it goes away? could you describe jerky? does the whole car jerk? or just the front end? or the steering wheel vibrates??

Default re:prob. exus

sorry i wasnt that clear about the problem. Okay let me explain it in depth. Basicly everytime i start the car and put it in "drive" the car starts to shake. for instance im in first gear going about 5- 10mph. The car starts to jerk, and i have to press the gas so that it will go away. The steering does not shake. ITs really hard to expain what is happening. Few weeks back i was driving home going about 40mph. When the engine suddenly started to jerk pretty bad. I pulled over and my car wouldnt start. Later i came to find out that the whole electric distribuar wire was burned out. So i went ahead and just changed that wire. After I changed the wire the car ran pretty well.Didnt get anymore jerks. Tell now it started again. So do u think its something electrical.Hope this helps. Thanks

OK, check your ignition coils/spark plugs (all 6 firing correctly?).
what kind of spark plugs are you using? i also have a vibration but it goes like this: gear is in D but i am stopped with foot on brake (like at a red light), engine area vibrates, but vibration goes away as soon as foot leaves brake and car moves a lil. what year's the ES? mines a 95.

I agree with meZoom, check the ignition set up.
On my old Bonneville, I had a spark plug wire come off once when getting off the highway. Your described situation is almost the same, except when giving it gas, it didn't smooth out completely.

You may have a coil starting to go or a plug that occasionally foils out or plugs up. check each one and see if they are wearing evenly.

meZoom, your vibration sound like a loose engine mount.
