ES 350 Noisy Starter

ES 350 Noisy Starter
Need some help. Even though I was a Buick mechanic long ago I have a problem I have not yet run into. My wife's 2007 ES 350 sounds like a thrashing machine when she starts it. I have heard worn flywheels make noise, but it sounds different.. i can't really explain it other than clunk clunk while the starter is turning. New battery last month. Is the starter itself going bad?

You might want to move this over to the 2007-2012 forum. More owners of that gen ES will see it over there.
This forum is for the 2013+ new gen ES.
