Which country do you live in? If you live abroad your ES is likely not to be OBD2 compliant. In this case it probably uses a different communication protocol - the so called M-OBD (Multiplex OBD). Unfortunately, a proper M-OBD scanner is in the price range of 1-3 thousands of dollars.
