16" rims

So shopping for winter tires and rims and have gotten a couple of quotes

I asked the Lexus dealer about using Toyota 16" rims and said they don't recommend them because they are a "tight" fit

First I've heard about this

Anyone hear of this or have any experience they can share?

I don't have first hand experience, but I know that 16" Camry wheels from 2007 to 2011 models Wheels will fit the ES350 perfectly.

I'd be concerned with offset stepping down 1" diameter mainly for the brake clearance in the front.

^^^^2007-2011 Camry brakes are the same as 2007-2012 ES350, hence my answer above.
