Default Abs light trac light

My ABS light comes on, and also the traction control light blinks. And also to be noted the brake light comes on once in a while. Besides that the car runs perfect and seems fine. Any insights to this? I have been reading about speed sensors. My question is what can this be? How do i test a speed sensor? and where are the speed sensors?

Without knowing what the codes are you are working blind.

ABS Speed sensors are located at each wheel, and if any are defective, knowing the trouble code, will pinpoint which one it is.

Note: if the problem turns out to be a speed sensor, sometimes cleaning it will resolve the problem. Also check your break fluid level.

So get the codes read first

Speaking from the same lights and no evident problem, it turned out to be the vvti oil sensor. I would just have it scanned for free at an AutoZone.

Hey

Just happened to me. I used the ABS scanner and it told me it was the RR ABS sensor that was at fault. I replaced it and the light was still on Then I read somewhere online that someone else had the exact same issue and when he changed the LR ABS sensor the light went away. I did the same and my TRAC OFF and ABS light both turned off!!

Hope that helps.

Not sure what year your car is, but on mine, I jumped two ports on the dianostic port under the hood and turned the car on. The ABS light flashes a code that tells you which sensor is causing the error condition. I do not remember where I found the info at, but it was while searching for how to read the codes without a scanner. I believe it was on the justanswer.com site.
