ok so i am having issues with my 92 es300. i was driving to school when i got off the freeway i hit a red light, and the car shuts off.
i get to class use a scanner and got code 25(lean exhaust) & 55(no.2 knock sensor circuit)

now the problem is the car turns on but once it starts to warm up it starts to choke and turns off eventually, so he says maybe the cold start injector. i unplug no doesn't make a difference, he then mentions about coolant temp. sensor being bad?? i look up and possible my o2 sensor is bad??


ANY CAN HELP?? HAS ANYONE HAD A SIMILAR TO SAME ISSUE???

too lean mean that air is getting in past the air flow meter. So you should be looking for broken hoses intake leak, on my car I had a leak from the back bank exhaust manifold where the collection pipe connects. I threw an 02 sensor fault but no lean codes. If you can get ahold of a smoke tester that is the easiest way to find it. If you cant get that a party one may do the trick. I happen to work in a shop so that is easier to do. If your gettting misfires or a rough idle both could be related to the same thing. But always start with the easy stuff that you can check quick and fast. Look for anything to connects to the intake. Check to see that the intake boot that connects the meter to the intake manifold doesnt have any holes.

 

i already checked for vaccum leaks and looked at all hoses, but i can double check.
i just pulled out the spark plugs too and one was soaked in gas and the others were just f*k from trying to burn all the extra gas... if i were to unplug the injector i should notice a difference right? i mean if its the cause it would just be running on 5 cylinders?

 

that could help, to see if it is an injector. If you have to intake off you can crank it with the plugs out and see if the injector in spraying a good mist or if its just dumping fuel all the time. Normally a too lean conditiion isnt from too much fuel. That be a too rich. Too lean its too much air. If you spark plugs are the wrong type also that can make a issue too. If the insulator is too long that can be cause your problem too. your plugs should be laser tip platnium with no more than 1.1mm gap if your running the stock coil pack.
