It's not his car. His parents legally own the car.
Therefore, he wants to modify his parents' car.
His parents refused.
He came online to ***** about it looking for emotional support.
Instead, he got a slap to his face.
He is now ashamed of himself and too embarrass to post on this thread anymore.
End of story.

LOL. Give the youngin' a break... Lets just say he got a little better perspective. Remember not too long ago we were young with all the answers too. By the way he did do some homework so we should encourage that.

Not embarrassed, just haven't been online for a couple of days. Excuuuuuse me...

Also, I'm not at all worried about looking ricey. I can't stand ricers, so my car looks totally OEM from the outside and in the cabin. You'd have to open up the hood or trunk, or look underneath the car in order to see any mods. In fact, when I got my aftermarket muffler, I made sure to get one with a tip that was identical to the OEM one. I did, except this one's a little shinier.

And the reason I like upgrading this car is because I can have performance without being a cop-magnet. My sister drives a 2007 Mustang and she's afraid to do anything illegal because the popo's always watching.

You can do this on any car not just the ES3. Once again the ES3 is not a platform for performance, your mod list list nothing geared towards performance anyhow. Maybe the strut bar. Why did you change the muffler to the OBX? was the bearing broke? Seriously OBX, weapon R? weight reduction? did you remove your interior?

I can guarantee my girlfriends stock 03 corolla is just as fast as your modded SPORT sedan. Keep the car clean, nice lightweight wheels, upgrade the old head unit, Navi, blutooth. replace old worn dated parts including headlights and tail lights to make it look conserved, and stop thinking is a Sports coupe. If you wish to impress your Justin Beaber friends without wearing skinny jeans, then change platforms and go all out..

The cops are not watching if your sister is doing anything illegal.
They are just checking your sister out...just like most guys check out other girls.
But when a girl drives a "sporty" car, it gives the guys a reason to stare at her for a little bit longer.
Tell your sister to relax.

Thats what really makes it all that more appealing to folks. When people tell you not to do and do you it.... well thats just satisfaction. At the end of the day... its not your money just your opinion. Want to not save for college but spend all your money on repairing your sports sedan, that you just "pimped". More power to you. However if you have your future set up and its just hobby money/time then don't let some folks online tell you different.

Yeah, like the name implies... The GS' came sport design - it was a TRIM package all around, with rarer looking goodies. Nothing more.

The GS300 can say sportdesign, but its not quicker than another gs300 pig. Same car, one is prettier than the other.

No, I didn't remove the interior. Just minor stuff, mainly parts that aren't necessary and can't be seen. As for the muffler and intake, they added a significant amount of power which makes the car alot more fun to drive. Plus it sounds alot cooler now Also, I am doing restoration work too. Very little is needed, since it was in extremely good condition when I got it (18 years old with 85k miles). And not everyone is rich enough to just buy a whole different car on a whim. This is what I got so I'm making the best of it.

Seriously? She's going 50 MPH in a car that has fully tinted windows, so that you can't even tell who's inside (much less how hot they are), and you think all the police just keep an eye out for her because she's hot. Are we adults here?

That's true, it's just a hobby. I don't do professional racing or anything, and it's not like I'm gonna supercharge it. I'll leave that to people with alot of experience and a real job (like EEngineer).

I had no idea this thread would be such a hot topic (and filled with such harsh comments)

I doubt this guy is actually old enough to drive. At least I hope not.
Get real, no ES is a "sports sedan."
