Default Struts Information Needed

Hey Guys,

I have a 95 es300 with about 110K miles on it. Struts are all original and now starting to make its presence know.

My question is when are you suppose to change the struts and at how many miles? My mechanic says change them every 60k miles.

Should I order them from lexus or a toyota dealer? Are the parts exactly the same, or is the lexus struts superior to those on the camry?

This car is strictly a workhorse and NYC city driving car. I am not looking to make this a awesome handeling car. I have my GS430 with TEIN coils and TRD sways to take me down that road. But for my ES300, I want a nice comfortable ride like when it was new. Would aftermarket struts be a better deal or would the ride be too stiff?

The general 'these are good' response around here is to go with Tokico blue struts/shocks.

Mine are on order (can't wait!) but these I've heard yield better handling than stock but don't sacrifice ride quality.

Besides, if you have 110K miles on them now and they are worn, anything better than those would feel great! I wish I had mine installed at this point in time, I'd love to give you a real experience opinion.

Check shox.com for a good price.
