My 1994 es will crank and run in shop,but when you put it in drive it doesnt have any power.Will go in reverse down the road at 20 miles per hour,check engine lite is on,scanner won"t read!Cant afford to take it to dealer.Does anybody know whats wrong.

 

it will run in park, but can't put power to the ground?

Does it make any horrible noises or stutter/shake when you put it in drive? try draining the transmission fluid and look for excessive metal shavings. Could be a dead torque converter as well.

 

Thanks Boosted21,but i changed the fluid and strainer yesterday before i made this post.going to take it to toyota dealer to get it put on there scanner tommorrow.Hope they can tell me whats wrong,ill post the diagnosis when i find out.
