Default performance throttle body

i found bored out throttle bodies for the 1mzfe engine(says for the solara) i wonder if it will fit the es300's?? and would this be the answer to removing the dual throttle bodies on the 3rd g es's to a single or is there way much more to it.if i could mount it, & everything hoses, ect had a place to go that would be sweet but i have no clue any ideas,or am i stuck with dual throttle bodies for ever??

Anything that is single throttle body 1MZFE should be interchangeable with other 1MZFE engines. However, I'll take the dual thottle body on my RX300 any day to one of these. One thing I do wish was available (but is available for single throttle body 1MZFE) is a throttle body spacer. It's discussed frequently on www.solaraguy.com in their modifications subthread, but they don't make ones for dual. Some people give this a thumbs down, but I did see the result on my friend's Z06 where we actually put two throttle body spacers (and the throttle body was cool to the touch), one wasn't enough.

^ If you change from a dual to a single, you ALSO need to change the intake plenum, as they are designed differently.

Personally, I'd rather take the dual, but the aftermarket/modification support is greater for the single. If ever manage to set up a ram air system like I've done with my RX300, that dual throttle body is nice to have in that case. So for me not, worth it it. Take a look at my thread here, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx3...ark-plugs.html (I don't really remove the entire throttle body out, but more separating it, but you can get an idea of what's inside.

Lexmex, wondering if you have a direct link in regards to the throttle body spacers thread on Solarguy.com. I did a search and a hundred and some pages show up.... thanks.

No, I wouldn't do that.

Just kidding

It's actually one for the Tacoma they discovered would fit on the Solara, and hence the 1MZFE. It only fits on single throttle bodies, not dual ones (which is why it won't work in my RX300).

I know this thread is a little old, but I did end up getting a rebored TB for my 98 ES. Proflow Design really communicated well with me, answered every question I had and sent over a nicely machined and powdercoated TB, it looked close to brand new. They installed a new larger chromed butterfly valve. I was very impressed. The installation took about two hours, spent time really cleaning out the Idle Control Valve, lots of carbon deposit. All in all, I am very pleased and there is more pep when you step on the gas, with all the extra engine upgrades I have, the car is a lot faster and sounds a lot better.

Can you link to the TB spacers for the ES? I had spacers on my 8th gen maxima, and they did work.
