Default 93 ES300 - side view mirror question

Okay,

Once again I am consulting the real experts. This issue I am having is on both my ES and my RX.

When I am at a stop, the driver's side mirror glass seems to have excessive vibration that makes it difficult to see. As soon as I start to move, the mirror is still again. This is not happening on my passenger side (either car). Is there a way to tighten the mirror inside the housing, or is this common and just something that I have to live with?

Thanks!

You should not see that much vibration. What RPM does your engine idle at? How long has it been since the last tune up?

It was just tuned up right before I had my timing belt/water pump/engine mount replaced. It is idling smoothly, just like brand new. It seems that the mirror may be a little loose as the passenger side is not doing it. My RX is also doing the exact same thing and it has a brand new engine from Lexus.

I tried looking up something to help with the dissasembly of the mirrors, but my manuals do not show very much detail. Sorry, not much help.

its related to your suspension/motormounts things. if you put your car in park, the vibration will calm down a lot, but in drive, it vibrates quite a bit. i havent yet figured it out either, but money is too short for me to be throwing a bunch of random parts to fix this vibration issue.
goodluck and let us know when youve fixed it.

I don't think that my suspension/motor mounts are playing a factor here. It only calms down when I start to drive, Park, Neutral, or Drive (stopped) are all the same. I just replaced all my struts about 6 weeks ago and my motor mounts were just replaced. If this was the case, I would think that the passenger side would be doing it as well. It is also doing it in my RX with a brand new engine and I am positive that when Lexus replaced the engine, they replaced the motor mounts. It is nothing too big that I will spend any money to fix, just an annoyance. I didn't know if there was a way to tighten the mirror glass. I am thinking it has to do with the fact that is a power mirror.
