Talking Stock Wheel Mod!!!

So I was prepping my car to be polished tomorrow (no pics this time, felt super lazy lol) and I took off the wheel caps to my stock 15inch chrome rims. Trying to clean them, I remembered why I hated my stock rims so much. The gold of the center emblem was flaking off and showing the plastic underneath or it was oxidating beyond my control. So I decided to change it up a bit. How I did it is at the bottom so have a good look and gimme some feedback

Went from this (faded gold):

To this (bronze-ish despite how they look in the pictures):

Side by side:

Anyway, I'm very happy with the results. They turned out way better than I thought it would. Now I have to decide whether to do it to the main ones to help my mod bug since I want to wrap them in carbon fiber

The product used was-a BLACK SHARPIE . Durability is certainly a factor but who cares...sharpies are cheap haha
(thoughts or criticism are welcome, even if they are bad ones )

I just see everyone now going over their gold badges for the "bronze" effect!

It does look better than before, so good job!

It helps stand out more on my gold ES

CF will stand out even more if I can get it

Actually, I think taking a dremel to the emblem would be too much. The reason why I did the sharpie idea was because both the gold and silver foils completely fell off my other wheel emblems. This is obviously a quick fix for now since I improved the looks by a lot but I need to find something more...permanent

it looks better. Take a pic of it on your wheel.

Yes, durability is the issue here. Nice look compared to that nasty stock gold LOL. I have seen this mod done quite a bit, I would say remove the gold L, it snaps out from the back with little tabs and give is a nice sand down and scuff up with some high grit sand paper. Once it's smooth hit is with some "Bulldog Adhesion Promoter" 19 bucks for a rattle can (google it, it's good stuff!) and then hit it with some good quality black gloss rattle can paint or what ever color your looking for. This will be more permanent and last about 3-5 years.
