It's cuz people put them on top of the regular mats so they were higher than designed and interfered with the pedals. They were recalled. Dunno if available anymore at this time.

Ah ha! That would make sense! Not sure that demanded a recall huh? If I had done that, I think I would have noticed it and taken out the regular mats! Amazing sometimes how we consumers are sometimes!!

Racing accel happened to me while in park thankfully. I live in Florida and never had the all weather mats and it was not me or the regular mats.

Since the mat recall other toyota model(s) are under investigation for unintended accel that do not mention mats.

If it ever happens to you while in drive simply switch the car to neutral.
