Default new 94 ES300

Just bought my first Lexus, 94 w/ 142K, have repaired small issues with this vehicle, found a new one while drivin after dark, the headlights and inst cluster dims when I step on the brakes, anyone seen this before, am going to run Seafoam, and do coolant flush soon, also need to check spongy feeling brakes, overall I think it's not a bad purchase @ $1500.00, will be used by my college aged son. Thanks for any tips.

Hey welcome. The dimming is normal unless its really bad i guess. Check to see how the grounds are doing and clean them accordingly. Change all the fluids and see when the t-belt was done. As far as the spongy brakes; if the car stops its fine. Its a Toyota thing. Flushing the fluid is not a bad idea though.

yeah i agree with 92es5sp. The dimming is normal.....I've been driving with that for 2 years and never had a problem

As for spongy brakes, thats a problem for most toyota but my brakes are surprisingly good....maybe it's due to the drilled slotted rotors the previous owner put in
