recently purchased a 2002 es300...
after using cd player for only a few days the unit jammed with 5 cds inside...
checked with the lexus dealer and a couple of independent auto audio dealers
to find out that the only way to fix the problem was by purchasing a new complete system (radio/tape player and cd player) at a cost exceeding $2500
or $1000. for a rebuilt system...
if someone is aware of an alternative solution, your comments would be greatly appreciated as i really do not want to spend this additional money so soon after the initial purchase (the radio and tape player work just fine; it is only the cd player that is broken so if necessary i will give up on the cd's for now)

If you have some diy-experience, then maybe try taking the cd changer unit out and dissecting it. (Not really a risk, since you would be replacing it anyways).
$1000 is an absurd amount of $$ for a cd changer
Try ebay?
