Talking Adaptive Variable Suspension

I'm curious about Adaptive Variable Suspension on the ES model. I realize it is an extremely rare option. The owners manual for my 2000 ES calls it "electronic modulated suspension".

Is it effective or is the damping effect too subtle to be noticable? With more electronics and special struts has it been reliable? If effective would it be worth the cost (high, I assume) of retrofitting?

I know, lots of questions but I hope anyone with this feature on their ES can discuss. Thanks.

^ I believe that the cost of doing this is better spent with an aftermarket setup which would outperform it.
