I just recently bought my Lexus from an older gentleman who for the last two years stored it in his garage. According to him, it ran before the battery went dead, and I guess I should say that I do know him and he just basicly parked the car infavor of his pick up. At first the car would not move so I changed the trans oil and filter, It now moves but surges forward when put in drive. It's fine in reverse. Should I change the trans oil and filter again? Could it use just a good going over.

 

Mine jumps in and out out of gear when i put it in first, so I know I need a tranny rebuild. Hopefully this isn't you situation. Did you fill the tranny with enough oil?

 

I put in 3.3 qts per the owners manual. It also idles smooth, and reves up fine. It's in GREAT shape and I think I stole it at $1500. Wondering if the cat is blocked or the anti smog is blocked up.
