brake squealling fix
My brakes was squealling very loud when backing out the driveway. I was thinking one of the caliper was slightly dragging or the sliding pin was frozen. I drove the car and test the temperature of the four rotor's. the left front was 25 degree hotter than the right front. the rear was pretty much even. I took the wheel off and inspect the calipers and sliding pins, they all look ok. I remove the calipers from the bracket and pump up the brakes so the piston could come out then I push the piston back in. I repeated that one more time. I also lubricated the pins with anti seize. I also took coarse emery cloth and sand the rotors especially the inner and outer edges. I also sand the brake pads and apply anti squeal paste at the back of the pads. I road test the car and the squealling was gone and the temperature of the two front rotors was dead even. I don't know what exactly work but I know the problem is gone.
I just did the same thing. Our 01' ES300's front brakes were squealling very loud going forward and reverse at very low speed. I lubricated all the pins and put anti-squeal paste on the back of the pads. It is dead silent now
