Need New Compressor

I need a new compressor which is a $800 repair. Don't want to pay that much so I was just wondering if I can change the compressor myself. Is it a messy hard job? Where is the compressor located?

Guys, my father needs a compressor for his 98 ES 300, I was hoping somebody has one, I am going to forward the above instructions. Sorry for jacking this thread, PM me if anyone has one.... or at least where I can get one for cheap
