Default Nav help

Well, finally got my ES!

I A M L O V I N G I T !

My wife keeps laughing at me cause every time she looks over at me I have a **** eating grin on my face

A lot to learn on this new ES. I've read the manuals, but I must have missed a few things cause I'm stumped on a few issues..a bit of help if you please:

How do I tell the Nav to keep a screen displayed, rather than defaulting back to the map screen. I would like to be able to listen to XM, and see the track/artist names, rather than having to press audio to switch over from map to audio.

I tweaked the bass, treble, mid settings on the audio system, but when I went out later on to activate the XM, the changes I made were gone. The system had the settings back to "factory". Why didn't the bass etc stay where I had left it?

More questions to follow I'm sure....thanks for the assistance.

Oh, very nice questions.

1. You can customize the Nav Screen settings by pushing the "Info" menu and selecting the screen setting icon. You will see an icon for "automatic transition...". Set it to off and the screen will stay put until you change it.

2. You are gonna love this. Each "mode" (DVD, FM1, FM2, Sat1, Sat2, etc.) has a memory for its own settings. So you can set up AM different from FM and different from CD/DVD. Each time you change modes it will remember where it was last time. There is good in this and bad too. I leave everything "flat" (middle position). Hope it does not drive you too nuts.

Good luck with your new toy!

One thing I wanted to add, if you turn the auto transition off (like I did), all of the buttons are "toggle". So if you have the map on, then you hit audio, the audio screen comes on. You can hit audio again it goes back to the map. You don't have to hit the "map" button. Just something I learned on my own and thought I would pass it along.
